Absolute Tea’s journey began as a dream in Dianne Spence’s mind. Di has spent many years and continues to spend her time infusing the history, legends, culture, customs, ceremonies, characteristics and flavours of tea into her memory and sharing that knowledge with others.
The current owner’s journey began when I applied for a job to work in the soon-to-open Flinders Street tearoom. A little piece of luxury in the middle of Townsville, North Queensland. Even though the tearoom was her workplace it soon became one of my favourite hideaways from everyday life. For many reasons the shop is now closed however, our online store is always open. Encouraged by constant requests from our customers whose tea journeys crossed ours at the tearoom, we created this online store. We hope that you will continue to enjoy browsing and tasting our quality loose leaf blends which will speak for themselves at your very first sip.
Di has decided to pursue her love for tea along other avenues yet we are all sure she’ll always be there to look over us and (hopefully) give that nod of approval. We feel honored and very lucky that I am able to keep Absolute Tea alive and infuse a little piece of myself into it. Our journey has really only just begun and I have much to learn but I hope that you will all come along with us as we explore the world that is tea.
