Lois Brimblecombe has been teaching effective communication through speech, public speaking and acting courses in Adelaide, South Australia for many years to both children from Years 2-12 mainly in school groups and to adults privately.
She also works on an individual basis with children with particular speech and breathing problems, sometimes referred by a speech pathologist/therapist. Adults are prepared for interviews, special public speaking events and may be accelerated to Diploma level depending on past experience.
Lois has taught in state schools, private schools, and her private studio. She continues to teach students with a wide range of abilities, always valuing individual differences and personalities while encouraging them to realise their full potential.
Many of her students simply need confidence and skills to speak clearly and appropriately in public. Lois has a particular skill in balancing her program with fun activities and drama games, yet challenging her students with optional competitions, concerts, and exams which offer objective and professional feedback.
Lois contributes with other bodies such as Rostrum/Voice of Youth, the Independent Music Teachers Guild of SA and is the President of the Speech and Drama Teachers Association of SA.
