The practice is close to two major hospitals. A branch practice is located 15 kilometres south of Ballarat in the township of Buninyong. The doctors provide a comprehensive range of family medical services and have special interests including travel medicine, paediatrics, asthma, diabetes, women's health and adolescent health.

Ballarat and Buninyong Medical Centre's have been accredited by AGPAL. AGPAL accreditation evaluates the quality and safety of care available in the practice in accordance with the standards of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Ballarat Medical Centre is an accredited teaching practice pairing with Deakin University Medical School's training program. This involves having 4th year medical students in training undertaking placement at the practice. From time to time there maybe a medical student in training sitting in with your doctor.
