"Poplars" is a traditional bed and breakfast accommodation in a quaint old Victorian home in the heart of beautiful, historic Clunes. Starting life as a miner's cottage in the 1850's, it grew like Topsy until 1868 and became home and surgery to many local doctors. Having lovingly decorated it with original furnishings and curios, we just love to share it with you.
The Colonial Suite is a Semi-detached Unit. Great Grand Mama would have felt quite at home! It features High double iron bed stead with feather pillows and doonas, Sitting room with TV, microwave, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, an Adjoining private bathroom, and a single sofa bed. Have breakfast in your suite or join us for a chat in the large country kitchen! The Queen Room offers a spacious bed/sitting room with Queen-size canopy bed & extra single bed. Cuddle up in the double bed under the feather eiderdown and you'll sleep "snug as a bug"! Don't worry we'll call you for breakfast – The bathroom is occasionally shared with Twin Room. The Twin Room has two large three-quarter beds, very roomy, very comfortable. An extra single bed is available.
So what can we offer you? The "Colonial Suite" with separate entrance; A Queen bedroom and a twin room - suitable for Mum, Dad and three children; The Victorian parlor/lounge with TV and coffee/tea making facilities; A spacious garden with patio; Morning/Afternoon tea on arrival and of course, Our undivided attention!
