Established in 1975 The Last Laugh Comedy Club (Melbourne) has hosted many of Australia’s and the world’s greatest comedians. From David Strassman to Wendy Harmer, Jimeoin to Alexi Sayle, Ben Elton to Rita Rudner and Richard Stubbs to Rod Quantock.
The comedy line-up changes regularly and many international stars appear exclusively at The Club which is located right in the heart of Melbourne in the historic Athenaeum Theatre and is open every Saturday night and occasional Fridays.
We have some always-here comedians, very cool guys, and very funny, such as Pommy Johnson, Dave Callan, Chris Wainhouse, Adam Rozenbachs, Dave O'Neil, and many others.
Pommy Johnson is a live-wire stand-up comedian who has toured extensively. His act is versatile and well suited to a wide cross section of audiences and situations. In 1993 he worked the comedy circuit in London and still embarks on regular tours all over Australia performing at a wide range of venues including clubs, pubs, ski resorts, campuses and corporate events.
Dave Callan is easily the hairiest comedian in Australia. He is a versatile and highly entertaining comedian, writer and performer. Dave has also been mistaken for Chewbacca, Jesus and The Wild Man from Borneo. Dave Callan is best known from his years on Rove Live and hosting Saturday nights on Triple J.
After a white-bread, middle-class upbringing, Chris turned out an arty-trendy sort of try-hard and a magnet for dominant women. A product of his environment, Chris lives a life of weird repetitions with no time for rational thought.
