Winery in Orange NSW
This family-owned vineyard produces artisanal wines from six hectares of vineyard on the northern slopes of Mt. Canobolas. Hand-picked grapes from hand-pruned, mature vines offer Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz wines that a are a delight to the senses. Canobolas~Smith Wines is one of the oldest and most significant producers of premium cool-climate wines in Orange.
The winery welcomes you to its Cellar Door, a scenic room and courtyard for wine tastings of new releases as well as fine vintages. Why not have your next gathering at the Cellar Door? Groups of up to 40 are accommodated—just call Murray at (02) 6365 6113 to arrange a booking. The Cellar Door is open Saturdays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. No appointment is necessary if you just want to stop in and taste wine.
In addition to its tradtional wines, the winery produces a wine called Alchemy, which is a mix of a variety of grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Shiraz). This complex wine ages very well, lasting well beyond 10-15 years.
Wines are also available by order at the web site, straight from the barrel.
