Kalianna School is a specialist school situated in Bendigo North catering for students aged 5 to 18 years. The school has been in Bendigo for the past 53 years. The school currently has a current enrolment of 261 from 186 three years ago. There has been consistent growth in enrollment figures over the past 10 years. Students enrolled at our school travel across many shires to attend, for example, the Mt Alexander, Loddon and Greater Bendigo Shires.
Our school motto is to ‘Unite and Inspire’ and school values of ‘Creative, Inclusive and Positive’ provide the benchmark for all actions that take place in our school community. The school’s curriculum is currently based on AUSVels and is transitioning to the Victorian Curriculum in 2016 and provides VCAL programs for students in their later years.
Since the appointment of Peter Bush, Principal, in 2013, the vision of the school has been to ensure students, when leaving the school, are active and productive members of society and have a desire to continue learning. Since his appointment, the school has become a regional resource for other schools and special needs providers in the wider Bendigo region. To achieve this, the school has undergone major restructure and delivery of its educational programs and has formed important partnerships with other organizations.
